Yes, the initials on the bbl in front of the flats are LD. I cant get a picture of them with my camera,but I believe they are the barrel maker. Geno, any ideas?

Siemens Martin? Can't make out the whole message, but it looks like the logo in a circle as on the boxlock gun in Geno's link. The "I" in Martin is missing or obscured on both guns. Have we been spelling it wrong all these years? I'll dig out a couple of Francottes and check.

Eightbore: The words in the circle on the flat are Siemens Mart.Steel. They just abbreviated Martin for the space need for the circle. The same bbl steel as Geno's picture.

Geno, The serial # is 27459 and I have taken a picture of the action flat which also has EW* on it as the picture link that you posted has. No question now that it was made by Emile Warnant in Liege in 1925. Thanks everyone for all the help.

WHERE can we buy 16 ga 7/8 or 15/16 loads ? In a light gun the 1 oz kicks more than comfortable.
