In Maine- just wondering if anyone here has ever dealt with this Dick and Craig WILDWOOD outfit in Maine- they seem to have quite an array of guns of all types listed in the GUNS INTERNATIONAL SITE--PREFER POSITIVE COMMENTS if you have those to offer-- if you have negatives about your dealings with them let's not use this thread I started for a pissin' contest-- I want to trade the 12 Baker project gun for a 12 Sterlingworth or A--DT, extractors, 28 or 30 inch M&F as a 'using gun'--Maybe!!

I've been in their shop once, about a year or so ago. Nice guys, know their business. The shop is out in the country about a half hour from Augusta. I did not buy anything but spent a lot of time looking and checking.
After hanging around here and other sites dealing with shotguns and giving the matter some thought my impression of them has moved somewhat. I think that they are pretty fair in their description of the guns, but I think they are a bit overpriced. Having spent a lot of time over a long period shopping the internet, I will say some of the same guns have been there for over 2 or even 3 years. Whether that's a normal event in the gun world I'll leave to others. Because I didn't buy anything, I can't comment on whether or how or to what extent they'll haggle. That said, the wall o' Foxes and Parkers is something to see.
I also think that, if you're in the market for a Savage 99 lever gun, they might have the market cornered. I have never seen so many in one place....

Been there several times. Many Parkers, Foxes and Savage 99's. Quality of the majority of the guns was so-so. and their prices were generally higher than many other retailers. Kind of place that you might find a particular model that you won't generally find elsewhere, but you'll pay heavy for that find. Also, their descriptions of condition seem to be "generous".

-- what's the old saying- "Your lack of words speaks volumes"-- I had sorta guessed they might be high on price and a bit "over the top" on description- appreciate the feedback from all who took time to respond--and also that we could keep it "On the High Road"-- I am sure they have many satisfied customers--but old Foxy ain't gonna be one of that group!!

Why not give them a call. They may just give you the gun you want. Come on, give it a shot.

Their prices are high but they will deal. Of course they are hoping you just buy.

Fox I'm stunned that you'd even consider doing business online after all your negative comments about eBay and the various computer oriented gun sales sites. Shocking.....

Well, put down your stun gun there Destry- and reach for the 8 gauge Greener--I wanted to buy either a 12 Fox Sterlingworth DT-Ext or a Parker Trojan- 12 gauge 28 or 30 inch barrels M&F-- and Wildwood seemed to have a lot of AH Fox and Parker Trojans, and they sure do list on GI-- I have about given up on GB, as about half the numbnutz who list doubles for sale therein don't know extractors from selective ejectors--and their "creative descriptions" boggle the mind-- auto extractors, manual ejectors, etc-- But GI seems to attract a "higher echelon" of both dealers and private sellers--
I am going to use the Fox I just bought on GI (Sterlingworth 12- 30" M&F DT-Ext- SN 120531 and as soon as the Dell service "Tech-Weinie" gets our monitor and the HP printer squared away, I'll even post photos of it.
I dealt with a gentleman from the Nutmegger State, he had a fair price, excellent photos, and he took the time to give me the stock dims and aprox weight info, and was very pleasant to deal with. So the FFL copy and the Chase Cashier's check are "in the snail mails" and I should have, through my FFL dealer, the Fox 12 by sometime next week--
I wanted a fairly stout 12 for our Tower birds at the local Fruitridge Club, as my "pet" 12 for that (and feral pigeons at Chuck's Club in Marion- a few tears ago) the 2E 12 Smith with the 32" Nitro factory ventilated rib (I used it in the SC pigeon ring at the Yooper in 2010 also) is on its way to my friend Buck Hamlin out in MO-- needs a built-up barrel lug and top rib extension to return it to "On Face"-- the top lever was getting way far to the left of TDC on the old 2-pc tang- and you can't rush a Master craftsman- I expect Buck to have it for at least 6 months, better guess, a year--
I very much missed the older HE 12 I foolishly sold some years ago--I went through GB and GI looking for one for sale-NADA- so this stout Sterly with No. 2 wt. barrels will have to "take over"- along with my 12 Grade 2 LC Smith with similar barrel and choke configurations.
Saw Mark's fine photos of the recent Lapeer MI sxs SC event- last several years when I could get away to attend ( 3 hour drive for me-each way) it was in April, if memory serves. Saw you "front and center" in one of the photos- hope you shot well!
