This thread is beginning to sound a lot like an anti-hunting rant from PETA. Ethical hunting? Hunting by human beings is not necessary to balance nature except where we've imbalanced it in the 1st place. We produce all the meat we require for eating and you can't practice shoot and release when you hunt. Even when you release your catch when fishing, the practice begs the question: why inconvenience the fish?
I enjoy the hunting I do and I do quite a bit of it. I consume what I kill. I don't feel the need to justify my hunting to anyone, and I do not feel that I have any standing to denigrate the hunting methods of others. Unless I'm really clumsy about it, I shoot almost all of my turkeys standing still with their feet firmly on the ground. That's how you do it just as shooting waterfowl on the water is how you hunt with a punt gun.
My point, if there is one, is that this is a pro-gun/pro-hunting forum. Let's not give the anti-hunting gang any un-neccessary support by attacking each other's hunting methods...Geo
