'Custom made' is a gun modified by the gunmaker to meet an individual customer's requirements. It could be a true one-of-a-kind, or it could be a fairly standard action taken off the maker's shelf and modified with non-standard wood, stock dimensions, engraving, checkering, gold plating, etc.

I think the key is that the gunmaker made the modifications, at the customer's request, thus "custom made" before it left the gunmaker's shop. If an aftermarket gunsmith added the exact same modifications, the gun would be "customized" but not "custom made."

But hell, anyone can call a gun anything - it's up to the buyer to figure it out.
