I have a family gun a Tru-Test (made by Savage or Stevens I think) 16 ga. SxS and I'd like to find out more about it.  I'd like data on Tru-Test history, firearms vendors/manfacturers, etc. Thank you for your help.

Carder's "Side by Sides of the World" says Tru-Test made by Crescent until 1925. After that J. Stevens. The Stevens made gun is same gun as Model 5100.
I think Tru-Test is a house brand of Western Auto ( maybe).

Thank you. Hadn't had time to pursue Western-Auto been digging on Cotter and Company and all the associated companies of the time. I'm going to follow up on that.
