Does anyone have pictures/dimensions of an early Baker Sterling forearm. My gun is ser. no. 45 so you know what time frame I hope to find. Though mine has a forearm, I am certain the wood was replaced, so I am looking for all information I can for checkering and size.

The Sterling was the lowest grade of Baker SBT gun. Value varies by the condition of the gun. I collect American single barrel trap guns. ross@berck.org

Thanks Skeettx, The one of pictures gets me a pretty fair idea on the forearm. It appears as if mine is about "one rib post" too long. At least compared to that later ser. no. Mine does not have the through bolts that this gun also shows. Doesn't mean it never did, just means it is different. Ser. no.? range difference? Also trying to follow the checkering pattern to get a match. So far it all looks good to me. My forearm has a good fit to the gun, it is just oversized,or so it appears. Much easier to trim it down than to find a forearm stretcher. Thanks again!

Dave, it seems no two Baker trap stocks are alike. Some forends are shaped differently than others. Buttstocks vary in shape, too.

Can't say that I have. The most recent article I have that comes to mind is in the DGJ, around 2008 that did a story on them. It is by my chair and looked at often.
