Treb: Yes, Turkish walnut. I purchased the blank a few years ago from Kirby Hoyt, Vintage Doubles. Actually, it was one of his medium grades. You couldn't really tell how pretty the wood was from the rought block of wood. I have some French that I was going to use because I thought it might match the vintage (1946) year of the gun better, but Paul talked me into using the Turkish blank and now I am glad I did. I have a small block of wood that matches the stock and I'm going to save my $$ and have the forehand done by Paul as well down the road, I think.

One year on the 'waiting list' and Paul had my gun for 5-6 months. A long haul, but worth the wait for me.

Buzz, you have to post pics when that forearm is done. smile

Notice how he inlets like the English makers, just enough wood removed to fit the guts of the lock and that's it, keeping the sidelock strong. Is he English or English trained?

Now just two questions; what English gun is that and are you going to hunt with it?

I believe the Paul was trained at Holland & Holland. His work is top notch.

That really is a good turnaround.

You have every reason to be proud of the work he did for you and of the gun that you should cherish the rest of your days.
