I would get a second opinion on the sleeving option. I don't buy the line about the frame and fences being to delicate or light. They passed proofed 150 years ago, and unless there is damage to the frame/lockup that hasn't been described, they will again.

If Kirk is back up on his feet and doing barrel work, I would have him take a look at it. It's too nice of a gun to not be put back into service.
