Recoil is hardly any different to me from the NobelSport LR1 Low Recoil 1 oz. loads I have been using for a couple of years. Great price @ $5.60/box and really break targets with authority.

Don't know if Gamaliel runs a truck to your area, but if they do, you can call and put your order on their truck and pay with a cc, and work out the freight with the receiving party. Most times it is way less than shipping by UPS, FedEx, etc.

NOBEL also sells a light recoil 1 oz. 12 gauge load -- LR-1.

I've shot several flats of these, and been very pleased. Dealer price from Zanders (IL) is $51/flat.

I was never one to buy into marketing hype and that's what the reduced recoil claim of B&P's Gordon system seemed like to me. That is until I ran out of the 1 oz AA's I was shooting mid course and switched to the B&P 1 oz loads I had with me. The B&P's were definitely softer, more of a push than a sharp pop. The difference was clear. Would I notice it if I shot them a week apart? Maybe not, but that experience illustrated to me that they weren't kidding. I maxed out the Winchester and Federal rebates so when I'm out of those it's back to the B&P's for me.

I reload and have started using Claybuster's new 3/4 oz. load for 12 ga. I don't shoot as much as I used to, but I still went with it and have shoot 100 rounds at Sporting Clays with just a light shirt and shooting vest with no recoil pad. (which I hate)

From reading here and else where, to reduce recoil you have to reduce the payload (shot)

Remington hulls 17.0 grs Red Dot, Rem. 209P primer, Claybuster CBO-175, 1300 fps 6300 psi.
They break targets as well as any load.

I believe you. But, there are other ways to reduce recoil besides reducing payload. I agree that reducing shot payload is the most effective, but reducing velocity helps, too. That's a lot of the reason why the 1 1/8 oz. load I mentioned is so soft. I tend to go the other way, staying on the heavier side of the payload and reducing the velocity. An added benefit to this is that reducing velocity results in improved patterns.

I guess I'd rather have two pellets hit the bird at 700 fps than one at 720. That's about the diff in velocity downrange. JMO.

I've never used more than 7/8's oz in the 12's and 16's...and 3/4 oz in the 20's on doves, at least for the last 50 years or so........all handloads of course.... Maybe using full chokes out here makes the difference....?...

I'm shooting only 2.5" hulls now, even in the modern guns....works really well on doves........usually limit out way too fast....

Just wondered why you use such a heavy shot load for doves......?

Shells loaded for an equal amount of shot: 3/4 oz vs 7/8 oz = 7 to 6, 3/4 oz vs 1 oz = 4 to 3, 3/4 oz vs 1 1/8 oz = 3 to 2. That is, a 25# bag of shot will load 400 1 oz shells and 533 3/4 oz ers; an extra 133 shells!

I also am shooting the 3/4 oz Claybuster at informal skeet. I love it. One of the real fun parts is the look of disbelief on the face of guys used to shooting 1 1/8 full power loads.

Try the B&P F2 subsound....2 5/8" shell, so it is ok for 2.5" chambered game guns. 7/8oz at 1100. These will absolutely destroy targets, and doves at just about any sensible range. I've shot handicap trap with no problems with these loads. Truly light recoil.
