What would be the proper style sling for this Rifle ?
A Kikuyu gunbearer.  I tried that, but then it would not fit in the Gun Case ?

The Imperial eagle (Reichsadler) seen on the side of the receiver ring is German Army Test Proof. On another photo of the receiver there is Crown over a Gothic letter, a German Army inspection/acceptance mark. So this is clearly a reworked (sporterized) German Mauser as done after WWI. A very nicely done specimen I must add.

Jani Jani thanks - I read elsewhere that if the Reichsadler did not have a Crown over it, it was after the Kaiser was deposed.

I would guess, one of the "quick adjustable" slings offered by the German Gun Collectors Assn.This is my favorite, and I'm old enough to have tried most types.

I see a small crown on eagle's head.
Also the military proofs on my WWI Imperial Luger are quite similar.
