Correct me if I'm wrong, friends, but is it not true that a 16 ga shotgun bore measures and is stamped between 16.9-17.1mm depending on who made it and when, while a 20 ga shotgun bore comes in at 16.0mm? The owner says he miked the shotgun bore out at 15.8mm which, assuming he miked it at the muzzle, would give him a 20 ga with about .007-.008 choke.
I recall a similar incident occurring about a year ago on the 16ga website where a guy was going on all proud about his newly acquired 16 ga (a Belgian, IIRC) until he tried to load purple power into it and couldn't.
Happens.
Still, if this is an Austrian cape gun in 20ga x 6.5xsomething, it seems a nice light combo for going up in the mountains after the critters that live up high. Chamois and truthahn come to mind right off.
