All,
For those who don't frequent the LC Smith BBS, Chris has started to make some improvement. He still has a long way to go before he is out of the woods. They have been able to take him off of a few meds over the last two days and the doctors are encouraged by what they are seeing. He is taking very small baby steps each day, but they are going in the right direction.
I would like to relay the gratitude from his wife and son for all of the thoughts and prayers. The doctors, nurses and staff at Huntsville Hospital have been excellent and have done a fabulous job up to this point. We are all amazed that CB is still with us and putting up a fight.
The prayers are obviously working, so keep them coming.

Chris D, thanks so much for the update....and an encouraging update t'boot.
I know Chris was really looking forward to receiving the latest issue of the DGJ which I understand has been shipped (didnt get mine yet)...hopefully he'll be enjoying it soon.

All,
Not much change today. He is holding steady. His nurse is working to slowly wean him off of the balloon pump. All of his primary doctors are off and the representatives from those sections are hesitant to change anything over the weekend.
I will keep you all posted as I hear more.

Thank you for the prayers and notes for Chris B. I am going to print this out for him when he is able to read it. That will be a ways down the road. He is still in ICU, but he is taking very small baby steps towards recover. He's put up a hell of a fight thus far and surprised a lot of the doctors and nurses.
