we go on these quail shoots in South Georgia every year (my employer takes us). I call them shoots cause it's def not hunting. pen raised birds. there is one guy that always takes a little 410 auto and gets 50 birds every time we go (it's one 4 hour afternoon and the next morning for about 4 hours and 50 is the limit the host wants anyone to take). I usually use a 28 and get about 40 or so. I've taken a 410 twice and usually get 25 or 20. It's the shooter not the gun.
