Two weeks ago today our good friend and fellow gun nut fell ill. He has continued to surprise the entire medical staff at Huntsville Hospital. I will spare you all the details but the biggest news today is that his kidneys are operating on there own to an extent. They are going to take him off of the 24hr dialysis and step it down to the 12hr plan.

They are also working to get him off the ventilator soon as well.

Keep the prayers coming cause he still needs them. There is no doubt that the prayers from his friends have helped see him through this up to this point.

Prayers continued each day. Chris B, please don't miss Ian's dinner in April.

Christopher, thanks again for the updates. Good to hear that CB is doing better everytime you post. Will also keep the prayers going for everyone.

More positive news from Hunstville this evening. They are continuing to work to remove him from the ventilator. He is now down to one IV vs. the 18 that he was on a week or so ago. He is more alert and coherent.

Today is also CB's birthday. Obviously the good lord still has plans for him on this earth. Keep praying!

Also, his son David has been accepted to Auburn University as a Pre-Med student!

That's great news(!), on both counts; let's hope & pray that Chris is there to welcome a new doc into the family when the time comes.

CB took a big step in the right direction today. They were able to remove him from the ventilator completely this afternoon. He is also much more alert and responsive. He can�t talk yet for obvious reasons but is doing much better today.

His fight isn�t over though. Keep up the prayers, cause they are damn sure working!!

CB is is still doing well without the ventilator. He is able to eat some soft foods again! He is still pretty hoarse, but is able to wisper a little and can communicate. He has also begun working a little each day with the physical therapist to get his heart pumping a little harder.

I cannot express enough how relieved his wife and son are at the amazing progress he has made. He continues to defy the odds and surprise the medical staff at Huntsville Hospital.

Also, I want to pass along the sincere gratitude from his family for all of the prayers and well wishes. The doctors told us twenty days ago when I got there that they had done all they could, that it was in god's hands and Chris' will to fight. It is obvious that the multitude of prayers and his own stubbornness is what ha helped see him through this thus far.

Christopher, thanks again for the updates. It is good to hear that those tiny steps are in the right direction and that every day is looking better.

Thanks, Chris. My prayers include asking that his kidneys will regain function enough that he will not need daily dialysis. Great to hear that he is doing therapy now.

The report I want to hear most is that Chris saw Huntsville Hospital in his rearview mirror, as he and his wife and son drove home.
