Well, I admit to heresy in using pumps and A-5's and wish it was only rain we had to contend with. Our guns rust in the rain, snow and salt spray of coastal duck hunting right before our eyes, literally. I've taken to carrying oil wipes with me in the boat and use quite a few each trip. So the "fancier" guns are a bit of a risk.

Did see one sea duck guide in Maine who would dip all guns into a long vat of Wd-40 at the end of the day, not something I'd do but I think the Ruger I was using then survived it for a couple of days. The LC's, the Foxes, the Wilkes, the Belgians aren't going to get that treatment for sure, though a few of them will get out onto the ocean in the next couple of months.

Ah, upland hunting is so civilized and pleasant compared to sea ducking 2 miles out on the ocean with a 3-5 foot swell with 4 dozen deeks to pick up and spray covering everything, including the inside of your gun case. Looking forward to walking the woods in Vt. this week with a nice 16 ga. Fox tucked under my arm!
