The new DGJ has an A.L. Ripley picture called "A Perfect Day" on pages 6 & 7; it looks exactly like a cover I used to hunt years ago with my dad, and I put up a good many of those shocks back in the day, when the farmers paid a dollar an hour or 25 cents a shock, whichever was less! Some good artists painting good pictures today (Chet Reneson, Eldridge Hardie, Pete Corbin and Rod Crossman come to mind) but none that I know of that are producing the lovely "magazine illustration" style of Fuller and others.
