I do remember reading many years ago the Frank Pachmayr,if that is the seniors first name, was one of the few true gunmakers in this Country. In other words he could start with raw steel and wood and craft a complete operating firearm from them.

The "old man" was August Pachmayr. Frank was/is his son.

This is obviously the long-lost "A-1 Specincible" custom built for 1960s-70s era British rocker Donovan Leitch - just check the floorplate gold inlays. The 'Hurdey-Gurdey Man' from 'Atlantis', looking forward to the 'Season of the Witch." KBM

It was approximately 25 plus years ago when I visited Pachmayr's store which was located then, I believe, on Grand Ave in LA. I was in Los Angeles on business and expected to make a 30 minute visit to the store. I met Frank and over the period of the next 3 hours saw his private gun collection, of about 40 guns, and was given a tour of his many buildings storing thousands of wood blanks. I also saw how they made Packmayr rubber recoil pads plus toured the custom gun shop. As it worked out, I made it to the plane just as they were closing the doors.
