George Fisher was a German immigrant who settled in Modesto, CA. He was around from about 1871-1893 (these are rough dates). He apparently came from a family of gunsmiths. He owned a retail store in Modesto. It is possible he and his family imported parts and / or whole guns.

Take the barrels off and turn them over. If it was made in Europe, it will have proof marks.

With that gold band, it was not his cheapest model...
