My brothers house in Fremont CA is in the middle of an old subdivision, miles from any open land. Nonetheless there were four wild turkeys roosting in this tree in a school yard adjacent to his house. Maybe you need to be hunting turkeys in CA jOe. Steve

What is the preferred guage, choke, and cartridge for shooting turkey out of tree in a California residential neighborhood? Be sure and have someone ready to bail you out.
I am glad to be here.

jOe...if you laid the turkeys across the gun you used...I think the stock could use a little oil...

I use a .410 (2 1/2") for all my residential area bird hunting in CA. But general residential area shooting in CA...it's customary to use a 9mm or larger. But this is a regional custom. I here it's a 40 S&W or larger in Miami.

My home town just enacted a city ordinance prohibiting the discharge of a firearm within city limits. Seems my buddy was shooting his 1/4 scale 12 pounder Napoleon cannon, with blank charges, on the 4th of July, aimed at the Lutheran pastor's house.
Practice safe eating. Always use a condiment.
