Hope that's not a daft question but most tests, say lifting gear or pressure vessel tests have standard practices to stick to, or has the threat of todays compensation culture reached the gunmaking business too ? Rust never sleeps !

It is all supposed to be professional and scientific - yet the anomalies are there to be seen. They seem to arise every eight to ten months.
