Viola is still limping along, although I suspect one of these days with the slow creep outward from Moscow, the fields around Viola will be dotted with trophy homes.
2-piper, Ackley says that original development of the 22 varminter was by Cap. Woykins with further development by Gebby and J. Bushnell Smith. Gebby copywrited the name as you mention and gun builders simply called it the 22/250 to get around Gebby's copywright name.
Not sure which was developed 1st the 22 V or the 240SV, if the 22 V was 1st, perhaps Gebby realized that copywriting the name for the 240 SV would be an effort in futility.
