Mark makes the point (1st. reply) that in England most game is driven so guns don't have to be carried far. I would think that walked up or rough shooting is the sport of the many and most shooting is in that form. Driven shooting is for the slightly more 'well heeled' to stinking rich. No, most shooting here is of the walked up variety and that probably explains why most double 12's are around the 6 1/2 pound mark. One thing I think explains why 20's have become more popular is in the advancement of cartridge quality which makes the 20 very effective. Lagopus.....
