Years ago I bought a Ithaca Nitro special 16 ga for rabbit hunting but like a fool I sold it to buy the next won't ever miss shotgun. Now almost 30 years later I'm looking at buying another SxS but this time it will be my grouse gun and I want it to be a 20ga.
I'm looking to get the best bang for my buck and this is where I'm going to need some schooling. When I'm ready to buy I will be willing to spend about $1500ish on my new gun. I know I want it to weigh in close to 6lbs, I don't care if it has choke tubes or not as long as it is choked Imp/ mod and I like both straight stocks and pistol grip stocks. I would like something new but this is going to be a hunting gun and if I can find a higher quality used gun for the same money and it's in good shape I would also consider that as well. As a trap and sporting clays shooter I know all about gun fit and how it affects scores so I know I need to go some place where I can shoulder a few guns to see what stock dimensions fit me the best(maybe LCS)but for right now I need options on guns in my price range so I know what to start looking at.
I'm looking forward to all of your opinions
Thank you
Lee
