If you're willing to go used, you can almost certainly find a Sterlingworth in shooter-plus condition within your price range. (By way of example, there was one (20/26, IC/M) sold through the FS page of this site about 2 months ago, for somewhere around 1100.) Similarly, it should be pretty easy to find an Ithaca Flues near the lower end of your price range.

It may take a while and some looking, but that's half the fun.
