Patrick; With regard to 'kick' of the Franchi, I think they do kick a little harder than a heavier, gas operated automatic. Gun fit is very important with these guns. Mine fits me well so I shoot Remington Express in them and it's not too bad. Equally important is setting the rings properly for the heavy loads. I have shot a Franchi that did not fit me well.....had too much drop and too much cast and it really thumped me. So, I think gun fit is real important with these light guns, and really all guns for that matter.
