Came across a new, vintage SxS fromgood ole Eibar. Its a Premier Regent boxlock with good case color and a beavertail forearm. Minimal engraving.

Apparently they were imported in the 60's and the barrels are stamped Ed Paul, NY.

Any feedback on these?

They are cheap- i.e $600 bucks for 12, 16, 20, 410s. I picked up a 410 today choked IC IC figuring its a can't lose.

The sports shop has a boatload of them, but all the 28 ga's are gone already.

Anyone know anything about them? I think they were made well before DIARM.

Thanks!

See http://personales.jet.es/rafa/b_punzones_larga_lisa.html for the makers stamp on the receiver watertable, along with the proofmarks and pressure ratings.

Probably manufactured by Tomas de Urizar y Cia, Spain, 1955-?. Weiland's "Spanish Best" does not list this firm in the 1972 roster of Spanish gunmakers. Fjestad's Bluebook lists the Premier Regent as being from several manufacturers, both Spanish and Italian. Barrels from 26"-30", various chokes. Appears to be a low price gun, with the Bluebook from 2000 listing a Regent in 100% condition for something like $225 (from memory).

Tomas de Urizar built pistols and shotguns for about a dozen trade names (Premier, Secours, Venus, Express, Phoenix, etc.) as far back as 1905, maybe earlier.
