Tough call...
As incredibly lame as this sounds, my "go to" gun is still the crappy Stoeger Condor 12 with the 26" O/U barrels. I got it 2nd hand and had taken the trigger apart and cleaned up the action.
My friend had a gunsmith install a dead mule recoil pack but the recoil pad was ruined in the process. So I pu a new Pachmayr on it and it points like a kid in a candy store.
$250 total investment and I added a pair of new chokes. The sad part is is that with a rifled choke, it shoots Lee 1oz wad-slugs accurate out to 50 yards to under 3".
For a rifle, I still love my dads old Springfield 1903a3 sportster. A bit of a handful with 200gr bullets, but very easy when using 150gr handloads.
And for a pistol, my trusty ruger Blackhawk in 45LC with the shorter barrel and custom springs. Just a really solid handgun and fun to shoot. I take it out back with birdshot and dispense with crows in the garden.
