The events you just described are not that much different than the "sins" that were committed in America, during the very short time we have been a nation. In fact you could simply replace some words in your paragraph and accurately describe American history. Replace "in India" with "from Indians" and "in South Africa" with "for Africans", and you have just described U.S. policy toward native Americans until the end of the 19th century and slavery.
