All that is great, RCC, if the item has a well established market with prices easily compared. However, guns of the type we often buy are frequently one of a kind or seldom encountered. In other words, the market for them is not transparent. So, both seller and buyer engage in the time honored capitalist process of bid and offer, searching for a mutually agreeable price. I know of no other way to establish fair price other than through negotiation.
