1. You date Italian guns by proof marks.
2. IMO "Special Extra" is supposed to mean similar to "Top" here; we are talking barrel steel, not the gun as a whole.
3. IMO Yes.
4. Very good gun but I don't like two features on mine: hammer spurrs are too far apart for quick one hand cocking, and the gun cannot be opened with hammers cocked; that's why the Bernardelli stays home while my Famars Castore goes out.
5. IMO this one is better than the Spanish one.
