Speaking of restoration work, this was a stock-up one as well.

How about some pics of the Niedner rimless magnum rifle that you wrote about in Rifle #130, July/August 1990?

Thanks,

Beautiful- nice flow to the lines of the stock, panels, checkering and, to my taste anyway, no Germanic carvings or French-styled "skip-line" as on Weatherby and Winslow rifles- not to my liking- however, I wonder how accurate the cocking knob rear peep was in that day, compared to the Lyman rear peep that required a stock "relief" clearance in the rear receiver area--?? Care to shed any light on that?? RWTF

RWTF, IMO the cocking piece sights work just fine and I have never had a problem with them. I tested them one time on a Niedner rifle after removing the slide of a Lyman 48 and although there was shift of impact, the group was the same size.

One of my old B&W photos. Notice the little roller on the back of the trigger.

Learn something new every day- I didn't know that Neidner and Shelhammer both lived in and worked in Dowagic, MI-- Home also of the Heddon fishing tackle Company (back in the day)--

Nano,
Creo que la madera es por R. G. Owen. Owen nunca viviķ en el estado de Washington.
Por favor, perdona a mi espaņol pobre
