There's a nice one on Gunbroker.com now:

12g Westley Richards Droplock on Gunbroker.com now

Looks like a No Reserve auction

Huh - I missed that, and I don't know anything more about the listing than what is there.

It sure doesn't look sleeved to me, but there aren't enough pics to tell.

Maybe both sets of barrels were lost. If it was "rebarrled" by Westley the 10k buy it now might be a bargain for the gun particularly if the engraving is sharp. This gun had a lot of bells and whistles when it first left the factory.

FROM THE AD ON GUNBROKER

"This gun had the barrels retubed and reproofed by Westley Richards sometime in the past when, we believe the gun was restored"---?

I have never heard this termonology before. If the gun has new barrels, people say the gun was rebarreled, not "the barrels were retubed and reproofed"

This is a big question affecting the gun's value. Does anyone really know if it was sleeved ?

I think it is a fully restored gun with sleeved barrels. WR is BV2 (Brand Value level 2), this grade of DL is OQ2 (Original Quality grade 2 - one grade behind a best work SLE), and fully restored (not to say remanufactured - jury is out on this level of restoration) is CC5 (Current Condition level 5): BV2-OQ2-CC% = $6,312. I'd say the current bid is pretty close to "right."

If it had new WR barrels on it, I'd say remanufactured and would not venture a value at this time.

Hmmm.
I don't know if I would hang my hat on your assessment.
W.R. priced their Deluxe droplock higher than their Best sidelock when this gun was made.
Besides, when was the last time you saw a W.R. Deluxe droplock in any reasonable shootable condition for $6200?

Yes, Mike Jensen bought it. Look for it on Gunbroker along with the 400 or so other items he continuously runs. The description on Gunbroker will be interesting.

It is a mute point now, but maybe the seller meant reblued vice retubed. It wasn't really a classic game gun configuration with the single trigger and weighing 7.2 lbs. However, the gun did have engraving similar to their deluxe model (deeper scroll and game scene).
