The Model 23 Classic .410-bore and 28-gauge frames are the same except for the exterior contours of the breechballs being downsized for the smaller diameter .410-bore barrels. This would work better on an Ithaca NID here the 28-gauge and the .410-bore frames, breechballs and firing pin spacing are all the same. The Ithaca .410-bore barrels are just really thick at the breech end.
