I don't know how he got that rate. The best I can find is $60 a night. That might have been part of a package including airfare from London. Cicus Circus, right across the street is $50.

I used Hotels.com and booking a month in advance I got a rate of about $45 a night for the week, Monday through Saturday. That seemed good but upon checking in I learned that there was a $15 a night "Resort Fee". So, $60 a night plus tax.

Mark, more FlimFlam on checking in. We were charged a $7.00 resort fee. Those people are just the scummyiest.

Did anybody stay at Circus-Circus? Its another old hotel. Its right across the street. I don't know that I would want to trade the convenience of the Riviera for something which is the same. However, I have heard better things about Circus-Circus.

"This is a great show in a ghastly place" Well said.
I could not go this year, last year I stayed at the Riviera but that will be the last time.
I use the shuttle from the airport and even when I have gun cases not a problem. Hotel to hotel for very little, I even stayed once across the street at Circus-Circus nice room and lots of good places to eat. Last year at the Riviera I had breakfast at Circus or McDonalds which is right on the corner.
Showing my age but I liked the old Sahara show.

The maid kept turning my air conditioner off. So I finely put the do not disturb sign up just so my room wasnt hot.

MP The Rivera was alot worse this year than it was last year. The pool side cafe is gone and nothing to replace it. The baffet was gross. The "R" couldnt get one order right. I email Wally about this and it would be nice if the rest of you did too.

I went through Expedia. It was a stand-alone deal. Not tied to any flights or anything. Same thing happened last year but not quite as cheap. I also tried Travelocity and a few others but Expedia came up cheapest this time. I of course got hit with the resort fee on top but even so...!
