I just wanted to give you guys an update on the Kimber Valier I received for Christmas that I reported on in a previous thread. Several posters were curious as to how the Kimber will hold up over time and given a few hundred shells. I attended a charity sporting clays shoot on this past Saturday and ran about 150 rounds through her. Though this is hardly a grueling test, it is a start. This is the first time I have shot the Valier significantly since it came back from warranty work at the factory. The problem with the ejector seems to indeed be resolved. Every shell kicked out as it was supposed to. There has been alot said about this gun being heavy but since I am used to a 12 guage classic double sporter this gun seemed light enough to me that it caused some aggravation for about 50 shots until I got into the swing of the lighter gun. After that I began to enjoy the valier when I slowed my swing down and finally started connecting. The only glitch to an otherwise perfect afternoon was a light strike on a primer. The shell showed a very light firing pin imprint with No boom! This happened on about the 10th shell I fired. The shells were some cheap stuff made by Wolf and were provided; otherwise I would have shot a better quality shell. Whether that was the culprit or not is anyones guess. Never the less, the gun functioned flawlessly after that round. I like the gun and hope that things continue as they are now. It is unfortunate that Turkish guns are getting the reputation as junk but I hope for the sake of my investment and my pride of ownnership that these guns will prove otherwise. I will continue to post on the status of this gun just in case there is interest
