Guy's ,just think about it ...King was in his late seventies when he capsized that boat in a snow squall and made it the 200 meters to shore ...then later in the spring he pulled on his gear and dove down to retrieve it!!! Hardbark don't begin to describe my friend King Brown,I want to be like him when I grow up I hope if I can make it over to see him next fall that I can keep up !!!

Plus one on your opinion of King. He has some silly notions on how we ought to react to our government's actions, but all in all I think a very lot of us here respect him immensely...Geo

Yeah, I have a friend or two who are liberals, at least I think they are my friends. However, I think I could separate the Buck Hamlin redo from an original. At least I don't think Buck is a liberal.

Just bought a "pin gun", but the side frame is marked, The Sterlingworth Co., Have not seen that before. What have I got? Best, Craig

Craig, I'm out of my depth, but member Dave Noreen's DGJ autumn 2004 article Evolution of the Sterlingworth, Part 1, says"
"When the 12 gauge Sterlingworth debuted in 1910, the guns were marked as being the product of 'The Sterlingworth Company' both on the sides of the frame and on the top of the left barrel." No mention of pin gun.
I'll see if there's more in Part 2, if I have it.

The Fox pin-guns came in three phases that I know of. 1st came the one marked "Sterlingworth Company" with a Wayne Junction address and no mention of Fox. 2nd was one also marked Sterlingworth Company with the Philly address. Finally came one marked just Sterlingworth with the Fox name on it. All were made over a 17 month (I think) period and the all later Sterlys were done without the recessed pins...Geo

I don't see anything disingenuous in either ad. The first is completely redone and, since it seems the intent was to restore, not customize, I'd say they missed the mark.
As to the asking price on the second gun, does anybody know how it compares to another that's being offered as new in the original box?
Buy Sterlingworths.
If you'd bought $10,000 worth of gold a month ago, it would be worth $9,500 today.
If you'd bought $10,000 worth of .22LR ammo a month ago, it would be worth $21,000 today.
