From this we learn that the Caper was likely extinct in Scotland circa 1745.Efforts to re;establish the Caper in Scotland started in the early 19th century.Credit is given to Sir Thomas Fowell Buxton for successfully re;introducing the Caper to Scotland circa 1836.This was acomplished by the import of 29 birds from Sweden.
