Michael, Thanks for the call, and your offer. I'm delighted with your progress on the book. Don't forget, it's all the way in the back... It will improve the presentation with a minimal amount of effort. Steve

Well Michael,
You have another copy sold to me to be precise. Autographed as well (damn the expense) lol. Just let us know when they are available.

I will order two as soon as they are ready. You should also write a book about collecting enough books(knowledge base) to know what the heck you are looking at.
Since that last thread on a knowledge base on rifles I probably have spent about 1200 dollars on Amazon. No worries though. Now is the right time to do it.
Sincerely, Thomas

Thomas,
Welcome to the forum and I'm glad you are buying books. I see post after post on the "web" with folks going away from books and feel that anything they want to know is available on-line and books are a thing of the past.
The guy with the books will always be ahead of the others.

Books, single shot, bolt action, doubles, wood and blued steel, the craftsman's and artist's touch; Is all this slowly fading to extinction?

As long as it is recorded by people like Michael, and carried in all of our hearts, it won't expire.

No list I'll just let everyone know when I have them available for sale and what the final price will be. Just letting folks know that the book is in the works.

Books, single shot, bolt action, doubles, wood and blued steel, the craftsman's and artist's touch; Is all this slowly fading to extinction? Jerry Liles Maybe for a few but overall I have seen a lot of change in the pre-war custom rifle market. A couple decades ago dealers could not give away a custom rifle built on a 1903 Springfield unless it said "Owen" or "Griffin & Howe" on it, an unknown unmarked rifle sold in the $200-300 range. Back then I would see a few dozen Owen rifles for sale every year, now I see just a hand full. I tried to go to the Winter Vegas show every year and some dealers would bring 1903-sporters for me to look at that they kept under the table. Now when one surfaces we all jump and grab our collective wallets as fast as we can. My big advantage, if any, was I thought I saw quality work in many of the unmarked rifles so I bought them when I could.
