I came across a pretty good stash of ACTIV 12 uprimed--new in the bag--hulls. I am wondering if anyone on this distiguished board uses them. More than 500. Gil

Gil, I do & I'm pretty sure I have a couple sacks of wads that would pair nicely with those.

Kind Regards,

I have a good size batch, but haven't used them in a while. I think they were up to three times loaded each and seemed to do fine. I don't shoot as much clays anymore, so I use the more common stuff.

Not lately, but in the deep past. They reload ok, the best wads for them are the cheddite wads, there is data out there for them. I probably have a manufacturer hand out somewhere.

I have used them for last 30 years in the black powder matches, they load easily with alcan wads. I use a mec jr. you can get 1 or 2 loads out of them. I like them so i dont get them mixed up with other trap loads. Its quit embarrassing on the trap range.

I shot these back in the late 70's in 20 ga. From memory, I believe they used the same components as the Winchester AA 20's, and would get quite a few reloads out of them. They weren't as good as the old Winchester compression formed hulls.

They're excellent. They spring back after firing such that I never had to resize them. The crimp petals will wear out first. Very rugged.

I have used them in 12, 16, & 20 ga without a problem. Ballistic Products had a lot of loads for them in some of their manuals including 2 1/2 & 2" 12 ga. Lots of room in the hulls.

Years ago the factory offered 25 of them for a couple of dollars. I had just purchased a Mod 21 duck and wanted some hulls to reload. They sent me a 100 and I loaded them all with 1 7/8's of 4's. The feds saddled us with steel shot soon there after and I still have several of them left.
