Brother Drew, in my last picture I didn't have labeled, when I clicked on it in my Photbucket account, it came up Greener. To be 100% sure I will have to look at my 1892 WW Greener and see if it this.
Ready for any Bernard?

"Ready for any Bernard?" Hold that thought! Steve is working on graphic illustrations of the billet/lopin for several crolle patterns, including Chain, before we move on the non-crolle patterns: Damas Chine', Damas Mouchete' (LOTS of Bernard variants), Damas Moire', and Herringbone or Corche.

I think I've got it This is the Grade 4 Crass RedofTx just posted, with a nice close up of the Washington or American Flag Bunting pattern. The two wavy zipper welds between the straight ribband edge welds are pretty clear = 3 Iron

Thank you for posting the excellent picture, which I have added here as my index example http://www.picturetrail.com/sfx/album/view/16082038More Ithaca damascus, mostly courtesy of Bro. Walt here http://www.picturetrail.com/sfx/album/view/20991622This is what is great about this forum; a fella in TX posts a pic, a Kansan graciously shares his knowledge, and it all comes together for a confused Arizonan

Please stop me when we're all bored This is a remarkable image of a late 1600s Four Iron Crolle Miquelet barrel reported to have been found during excavation of a dump site in Germany courtesy of Hugh Toenjes http://www.longrifle.ws/artisans/artisan.asp?ID=72 The straight ribband edge welds and wavy 'zipper' welds are quite apparent

I know, give it a rest Rained Friday and Sat. in the desert (which is a good thing but bad for Paradise Season visitors) so I went through my images for high resolution pics to help Steve with his graphic design of billets/ lopins and started another PictureTrail album http://www.picturetrail.com/sfx/album/view/243174023 Iron Turkish which demonstrates 2 zipper welds within the straight ribband edge welds I do not have a high resolution ultra close up image of Bernard II, Chain, or Turkish Star if someone would be so gracious as to send a pic by jpg attachment to revdoc2@cox.net

Time for a serious intervention - but this is interesting! Just got this image of a 1888 Parker Grade 2 16g Toplever Hammergun with 2 Iron Washington; one zipper weld within the straight ribband edge welds. Notice the scrolls are larger than the 3 Iron shown above.
