That grade 4 is very nicely restored in my opinion.

Thanks for the responses so far guys. Good point about the top rib and guard screw. Also, Drew's 1910 pictured gun has more engraving on the side of the barrels. May be just a model year change but who knows. Here is a picture of the lower barrels. I have a couple more I will post as soon as I can, unfortunately they are not the best. When I took them I just found it to be an interesting gun and was not interested. But, after thinking about it the last few day I have become more interested. The gun does seem "to good to be true" so am looking for all the info I can get. Thanks

Doug, you brought up a very good point and one I overlooked. I was so taken that it was a 20 gauge that I didn't see that the for-end should be blued. On brother Drew's picture, that is the way the writing would look on a Regular Frame. It would be interesting in what John brought up also about no matting on the rib.
I will go with Dick (Laxcoach) and now say this is a re-cased gun and half the price now.
boboreno, you posted your reply as I was typing this. Is there any reason you covered up the serial number?

No reason for the serial number covered accept I was not sure I should show it. Like I said, don't post much so if there is no reason to cover it I will give it. And thanks for the help. It's interesting the small things you guys are seeing that make a big difference in value.

Actually I would not mind if it was not original. I would like to use a gun like this and not sure I would if it was all original. I would feel really guilty using a gun this old that was "like new" yet.

boboreno, there are some people that are not new here and still will not leave a full serial number, not your fault. It is if they think someone is going to claim it is their gun or who knows what. Good luck if you get it, still a very nice desirable gun. The chambers will be 2 1/2" and I definitely would not have them lengthened.
Laxcoach, I'm not so sure that weep hole is a deterrent as I have seen them on non refinished guns. The water has to be let out some where.

David, I have seen it also, but that and the lack of engraving on the side of the barrels concerns me. IMHO a "ring test" is in order.

Nice looking gun and one I would be happy to own. Almost too nice to shoot. So many minor items that just miss the mark. If it was an upgrade I think that more attention would have been paid to getting the details right. I suspect a redo rather than an upgrade. For the right money who cares?

David, To me, that does not look like a weep hole, but a "graphic" black alignment target dot for the "graphic" covering the serial numbers.......note that the barrels are not flat in relation to the camera lens, i.e. the shadow off of the lug, barrel sides etc.... Doesn't look quite right to me under magnification.....?.....If it is a drilled weep hole, it's drilled off center on the side radius......?
