The video styling and music by the producer made me feel a bit morbid as if I was seeing the end of an era.

Thanks for sharing. Looks like several of the craftsman are "middle aged" which goes against the often referenced "older" workers building Spanish guns. It's clearly a well produced video and with the exception of AyA not something you would expect from a Spanish maker.

Very impressive. I was especially intrigued by the actioner forming the sideclips. That was intersting. Also, seems Arrieta makes a good number of double rifles. Thanks so much for posting.

We all learned recently that Arrieta y Cia has bought out the Pedro Arrizabalaga firm and have moved Arrizabalaga's operation to under their roof. The keen observant will recognize Arrieta's influence over Arrizabalaga in the video. We know that the the Arrieta 06 and Arrizabalaga Round Action models are each company's versions of the Boss-style of engraving. Arrieta's version is more profusely engraved and the scrolls are tighter than what is typically found on the Arrizabalaga Boss. The very last actions seen near the end of the video shows an Arrizabalaga Boss, built in Elgoibar -- with the Arrieta influence -- more profuse engraving and tighter scrolls.

Actually, what Arrieta bought was the Pedro Arrizabalaga name. Garate, and the old artisans at what used to be Pedro Arrizabalaga, have all retired. The few younger workers at PA who could not retire have moved to Arrieta. While Arrieta will likely produce shotguns marked “Pedro Arrizabalaga”, they will be Arrieta shotguns marked Pedro Arrizabalaga.
It’s the end of an era.
