I just picked this one up at an auction for a nice project. Sadley the butt is broek off and the auction house had no clue where it was. I'm going to just restock it and have fun shooting it. The barrel is almost new inside, no idea yet what the caliber is. I'll post some pictures of work in progress as time allows. Mike

As you can see it is a , or was a nice commercial model. Hopefully it will be again.

If you decide to lose the scope mounts I'd like a chance at buying them.

Hi Mike, I'm keeping the mounts, I have a Pecar to put to good use on this one but I need the rings and claw parts. These should be easy to duplicate.

Congrats!!!!!!! Nice buy. Can you read what model it is off the top of the front ring? Should make a nice shooter....after of course you figure out what that would be.

Now for the sad part, at this same auction my phone went on the blink and I missed the call to bid, it's sister rifle complete with a scope, just a bit newer rifle but same model in great shape sold for $470.00. I think I about lost it then. I could have had 2. I did find mounts for my scope though so I have them coming. It should turn out nice. I'm thinking of having the action color cased. Alfred Schilling has an action like this one color cased on his web site and it sure is nice. Mike

That's a nice project. Certainly a rifle that deserves it.
I stumbled onto an English built sporter on a M1903 Greek Military Mannlicher Schoenauer. Steyr action dated 1906. Luckily they nicely engraved onto the bbl "For 256 Gibbs Magnum Cartridge Only" or I would have had one tough time figuring that one out. An Aldis Bros/Birmingham 'scope in detachable topmount on the rifle. Well used but not abused. Perfect bore. Sitting on a Gunshow table for $400 at OGCA last month. Stuff like that keeps me still going to shows.
Good luck with the restoration. Post some pics. M/Schoenauers are a favorite of mine.
