After going into the archives I still have a few questions regarding sleeving a shotgun that I have been working on for way too long. The change is from 16 to 20 ga.
From what I have seen, when sleeving a 20ga the sleeve is cut to the rim diameter and put in place. This leaves thin walls, and leaves the only unsupported area being that of the joint.

I went with the 16 ga as it would allow a bit more metal around the chamber and outside as well. Also, when reaming out the monoblock, I wouldn't cut into the rib extention for the Greener crossbolt.

I also found that I had a tap in that range(.820x32 choke) that I could use instead of soldering the sleeves in place.

One of the questions is if the above seems reasonable and correct.

The second is whether I should have the chamber end, end at the end of the monoblock (2.5") or at the end of the chambers (3"). This specifically needs a "because". I would like it to end at 2.5 for a number of reasons that have to do with contour.

I know that the minimum thickness should be .090. The current thickness would be about .06 in the area of the joint and the od of the threads.

Thanks

Tom
