Does anybody else wonder why a long time dealer like Thad Scott continues to post pictures that are so poor you can only tell which end is the stock by the general color? I have to think such piss-poor pictures are deliberate, so you can not get a really good look at the guns. He could also crop several yards of that ugly green background and make the gun pictures larger. Has anyone ever asked him? I sent an e-mail once suggesting he try cropping. No response.

Jim,
I just went there and looked.
I clicked on the pics to enlarge and found some were marginal and others not too bad.

I think a better camera and some lessons would help.

My observation as well, Jim. Most dealers in quality doubles are giving us pretty good photos, although I wish more of them would take a nice closeup of the barrel flats. Would answer a whole bunch of questions, on foreign doubles in particular.

Seems I read something, here or somewhere else, that Thad might be about to retire. In that case, he probably figures no use changing now.

Even if Thad's pics are lacking, I must say that he is very good with his return policy and will answer any question you ask. But, you do have to ask. I've been pleasantly surprised with each gun I have gotten from him, compared to the pics.

You think Thad is bad, take a look at Puglisi Gun Emporium. Lots of photos but they have that prismatic "thousand pts. of light" look like Barnett's and they don't get less distorted with enlargement. Not to slam the door too hard but could be that some of Scott's guns look like junk because they are. The Charlin I got from him was pretty much all he said it would be and since he didn't say much I didn't end up having to take what he did say as a diversionary song and dance.
