Hi Reb, it's hard to believe but as big as my RV is, it's small compared to many rigs being built these days. Size was a consideration, from what I understand many NP's don't have spaces for rigs the size of mine. Buying this RV was not a spur of the moment decision, but rather something I'd researched and thought about over the last two years. I wanted to go smaller, maybe even a class C RV, but having lived for 2 years in an 8'X25' travel trailer while in college I knew that I needed something at least the size I bought, yep... size matters.

Chuck and Mike, at 11 years old my gurl Samba is getting a bit old to hunt. She's blind in one eye, and going deaf (or she's ignoring me). This fall I'm hoping to take her out on one last hunt.

Steve

Rockdoc,
Sweet, so when you take off are you then a full on nomad? smile
Or do you still have a home base in Texas ?
May all you roads be gently down hill ( in the good sense of course)
You must be stoked, hope it goes just how you want it to
When do you pull out?
Best wishes
Franc

Hi Franc,
When I set out it'll be as a full time nomad. However, for the next 6 months I'll be staying in the Austin area becoming acquainted with my new home and making certain any issues it might have are rectified. That said, I am planning on a 2 week shakedown/hunting trip to South Dakota this fall. While there I may change my residency address to SD, it's an RV thing and has to do with vehicle licensing and such. SD makes residency very simple and they have very lax vehicle regs. For instance, here in TX I'd run the risk of a fine if I let my safety inspection sticker expire while I'm out of TX traveling, SD has no safety inspection. I'm not looking to drive an unsafe vehicle, I just don't need to worry about driving back into TX on an expired sticker, SD also has a generous grace period regarding vehicle license renewal.

Aw Chuck, keep it going.....Mike is down in Winters, Texas chasing his turd hounds. Claims it's for some kind of championship, but I sure can't imagine what kind it'd be. We don't have many rabbit dogs around here so maybe he thinks there's a chance......
