In Sheep and Sheep Hunting he wrote about one the he purchased and sent to Al Biesen, who "took off considerable excess wood from the stock, removed the Monte Carlo comb, reduced the circumference of the pistol grip, installed a solid red-rubber recoil pad, refinished, checkered, and installed a Leupold 4 x scope."
