Thanks for the comment, Daryl. Amazingly, the gun is in near new and untouched condition.

For anyone interested, here is the only photograph I have found showing Castle Street in 1875. In the distant haze at the far end of the street city hall is vaguely seen. Williams and Powell were only a few doors back this way from it and on the right side of the street (as you're looking at it). A classy neighborhood! I have references to their Works being at 5 Thomas Street, outside of the main business area. Suggest you copy this picture for your archives cause it was hard to find such an obscure item.

Notice the Sewill manufactory in the near foreground, makers of watches, compass' and other fine instruments. They ceased trading in 2000.

For those of you who use Google Earth you can go to "street level" and go down the street towards city hall. You will find the original building at 25 Castle Street is still there. It is part of a large, substantial brownstone building. Neat to be able to do this.
