Hold on a minute there, Jeff. If you're being served "clam strips" here in New England you're not dining in the right places. Around here we consider "clam strips" to be nothing more than cheap pub food. If you would like to sample authentic New England fried clams come on up and I will personally take you to Ipswich or Essex Massachusetts where you can sample some of the finest fried shellfish dishes you ever dreamed of, in fact you may be reluctant to return home. And, by the way, it's on me- including libations.
