Very nice work. I believe it is a restock, the checkering pattern is more of a Fulton gun than a Syracuse gun. Quality 3's Syracuse guns usually had a dog on the trigger guard, and I cannot see this one.
Still very nice to see a hundred and twenty something year old gun brought back.
I beg to differ- did you notice the square corners on the barrel lug- later Smiths had the front corners at a radius, also the mating edges of the slot- Nice older Smith
